Welcome new faculty member, Lu Wang

The Center for Renewable Carbon is pleased to welcome Assistant Professor Lu Wang to the faculty.  Asst. Prof. Wang joins us after working for 3 years as a Research Professor and R&D Scientist in the Advanced Structures & Composites Center (ASCC) at the University of Maine.  He (PI) was recently awarded a USDA-AFRI grant titled, “From Plants to Plants: Applying cellulose nanofibrils with foliar fertilizers to improve crop productivity.”  His research interests range from plant nanotechnology, natural fiber-based product development, sustainable packaging and 3D printing, among many other related topics.  As a graduate student, Asst. Prof. Wang received numerous awards, including 2nd place PhD Dissertation from the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) and the Graduate Scholarship Award from the Automotive Division of the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE). CRC is excited to have him join the faculty team!
