Two CRC faculty receive UT-ORII grants for research around circular bioeconomy systems

Recently, the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute awarded six grants to UT faculty members for work around the latest convergent research initiatives. Two of these awards went to faculty in the CRC to work on the Circular Bioeconomy Systems initiative. Dr. Nour Abdoulmoumine will be investigating, “CO2 Vaolorization to Bio-Derived Chemicals and Polymer Precursors” and Dr. Amanda May will explore, “Combined Impacts of Microplastics and Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) on Metabolomic Functions of Bioenergy Crop Rhizosphere Bacteria.” Read more about the initiatives and other winners on the UT-ORII website.
