CRC research a part of NSF Engine project moving to final round

Researchers from UTIA have collaborated with scientists from HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology and Auburn University to develop a proposal for the NSF Engines program, which funds projects that create economic and technological opportunities around the country. The team’s “BRIDGES” project, which explores the creation of products and chemicals using sustainable locally grown grasses, advanced to the final round of the Engines competition and is under consideration for an award up to $160 million.
